I think the second one is one of the rare sequels that's better than the first in just about every way. But that's just me, of course.

Very strange to see Bill Lawrence is writing it.
It hasn't even been pitched yet as a series, but I wonder how a TV series is going to work. Will it play off the movies with an Asian character and Black character as the leads? Or will it go a different direction? I can't think of any notable Asian American actors with a comedic and action background who could work on this? CBS did sort of a play on this back in the late 90's with Martial Law that had Sammo Hung and Arsenio Hall. |

Maybe if it ties back to Chan, someone will be inspired to do a release of some of his Hong Kong films which doesn't suck like an industrial carpet cleaner. But I've simply come to accept that liking HK films is masochistic.
Wonder who they'll recast? Can't see Chan doing a U.S. TV series. And I can't imagine Tucker will be in it either. Lawrence sounds interesting. Ratner, not so much. |

It's Bill Lawrence, who loves to use actors he's worked with in the past, so I'm guessing the leads will be Zach Braff and Donald Faison with frequent guest appearances by Courtney Cox, John C. McGinley, Michael J. Fox, and of course Lawrence's wife Christa Miller.
But in all seriousness I am a big fan of Lawrence's shows so I'll give this a shot even though I wasn't a big fan of the movies. |

Rush Hour has been ordered to series by CBS. It's not the only show based on a movie CBS ordered, as they've also got a show based on the 2011 Bradley Cooper movie Limitless.

This just premiered on Thursday night.
Any thought for those who watched? Ratings were mediocre, so I don't expect this to stick around beyond the original 13 episodes. Anyways, I didn't think it was outright terrible. It had some decent action and a few laughs. Although it was almost an identical remake of the 1st movie with a few minor changes. Wan't surprised the villain ended up being: [Show spoiler] Jon Foo was kind of bland and doesn't have the personality of Jackie Chan, but he does play a straight faced guy well. As for Justin Hires, I'm kind of mixed on him. I did laugh at a few of his lines, but he does seem to be trying too hard and comes across as a Chris Tucker knockoff. This probably won't be must see TV for most, but I think I'll stick around. They re-worked the concept to make it an ongoing procedural with Lee's character being hired by the LAPD full-time after the events of the episode. |
