It's also on prior Blu ray AND DVD releases but for some reason now is the time they want to start asking for refunds. Doesn't it even mention it on the Halloween 4 cover? Does it not mention something about archival materials not being perfect? Everyone knew this going in that it was just the same disc as the previous blu ray release.

I have both the new disc in the 15 disc set and the old disc from 2012.
The new disc has the sync issue, but, my old 2012 Blu does not. So, Crazybeats... you are wrong yet again. Though I expect nothing less from you. And why the racism against Americans on an American site? Maybe you'd feel better using a different site where you would feel more at home. Some of the sync issues on the 2014 disc (the new one) are severe. Scenes are the police station, etc. are way out of sync. I'm using a Sony Blu ray player -- not PS3. So... no, this is not on both discs. My 2012 disc plays perfectly fine. The 2014 disc has major issues. |

Anyone paying attention to the thread knows it wasn't about the sync issue. The problem was all of the talk about conning Amazon out of partial refunds.

Cool! I was going to get the 15 disc set but now I'm rethinking things. I really only want 4 discs out of the entire set. The 35th anniversary edition with the original mono track, H20 in 1080P with OAR and extras, The Producers cut of Halloween 6 and the bonus disc of extras. I don't have Halloween 3, 4 or 5 on Blu-ray so that's also a nice bonus for me. Perhaps I'll get the 10 disc set if it drops super cheap (perhaps around black Friday) and pick up the Producers cut of 6 when it's available as a separate release. I'll miss out on the bonus disc but oh well. It all depends on how much the 15 disc set drops in price over the coming months. Also, it might be worth my while to wait and see if AB sorts out the sync issue with Halloween 4.

I remember the first Blu-ray of Gladiator having a medicore transfer and a lot of folks weren't happy with it and fortunately they were granted the opportunity to send their discs to the studio in exchange for a newly remastered disc. Could Arrow not do the same thing here? Do a new H4 disc, correcting the sync issue and send it out to everybody who received the sets?

The discussion panel is on the disc, Anchor Bay simply redid the menu to remove the option to choose it. AB & Scream for some reason were unable to clear it for inclusion in the sets. There is a way to access the panel on a BD-ROM and mayhaps certain BD players if you can choose a specific title. Now, Anchor Bay is working on a replacement program. It just took a lot of complaints after they not only ignored consumers, they brushed off Scream who was getting the brunt of these notices. Its not yet known what Anchor Bay will do... I'm hoping the long delay in response means Anchor Bay & Scream are working to clear that supplement now. If they can clear it, they can simply send us the 2012 disc with matching art, wait. It's Anchor Bay, they can send us the 2012 disc. Or as you mentioned, create a new disc and clear that commentary for this set too. It would certainly appease many fans upset about this error. That would be great but AB seems to just want the problem to go away. Other companies have stepped up to the plate when delivering less then stellar transfers. TCM released The Lady From Shanghai originally on a 25GB disc with lossy audio and missing extras. A few months later they re-released the title with a new HD transfer on a 50GB disc, lossless audio and added the promised extras. The new pressing was a bit controversial as some thought it was "too dark" but I thought it was a vast improvement. The point being, if TCM can repress a disc, so can AB.
