MGS2 & 3 on PS3 problemos - Blu-ray Forum

I have 60 Gig PS3 which has the PS2 chip in it. It supposed to play all PS2 games flawlessly. Now, I played MGS2 not too long time ago and it played just fine but haven't played after the last or two PS3 updates and MGS4 installation.

Anybody heard about any problems when playing MGS 2 and 3 on PS3 after a particular update? Every other games plays just fine (SSX Tricky for ex.). Both those MGS games go to the screen where it wants you to press start and goes to the menu, when I select anything (new game, load game, etc) it goes back to that "press start button"
What's up with that?

the affirmative comand for MGS 2 and 3 is O, not X. Press O and you will be fine.

I don't really know why Kojima chose that button setup for the western audiences. I think all Japanese games have control setups like that.

I think he just didn't bother to change it because he thought there was nothing wrong with it.
