Default Movie Collection Software

I'm debating on getting a software to help keep track of all my movies. Not that I have issues knowing what I have, but I like the idea of being able to sort it and search through it using software, for whatever reason.

That being said, does anybody here use any particular program, and/or recommend a certain program over another?

Thanks.

Interesting. Being 100% web based might be nice. I have DVD Profiler and it does allow you to share your list via the web, but the really use the program you need to install the application. Not so portable as web based.

It is quite easy to share. If you watch the signatures here you will see that many members use it

Dvd profiler is honestly tops, and worth the price.
The only thing that I do not like is that it does not seperate the formats.

Yeah -- easy enough to filter them out, though.

I think maybe you don't understand me. I have used DVD Profiler and I know it is easy to share. What I was saying is that to make edits to your collection you need to have the DVD Profiler application installed on whatever computer you want to use. This DVDSpot program is 100% web based so I can make my edits from any computer that has an internet connection, even a Mac or an iPhone I would think.

There are a few nice applications/Services out there.

Collectorz, DVD Profiler, Invelos, DVDSpot, etc.

I like Collectorz Move DataBase the best, it is completely customizable, online searches from many online sources, barcode Scanner input support, hyperlink to IMDB (Internet Movie Database move database) for Actors and director Bio, (HTML) export abilities which save me from buying titles I already have, I can check my collection over the internet using my cell phone. Click my Blu-ray collection in my signature to see a sample.

Good Luck

I highly recommend this software from Collectorz.com, don't know where I'd be w/o my barcode scanner I have over 800 DVD's and Blu-ray's combined. It is usually updated about once a month too. Highly customizable setup and movie searches.

Interesting. When reading about the barcode scanning, I thought to myself how I own this little cat USB scanner thing that I got as a promotional item from a store a few years ago. Sure enough, on the Collectorz website, they sell the very same thing.

I wish I could share the same comments with you, but I found this software to be annoying, messy and completely untidy with way too much information needed for a simple "listing".

Not to bash it completely, though, I'm quite sure it suits alot of people, it's just not for me.

Don’t worry about bashing it’s an opinion and we all have one. One of the cool things about Collectorz it is so customizable. There are different skins available with diverse views and information, which can be simple or complex.

I don't mean to revive an old thread, but I started this one, so that's ok, right?

Anyhow, thanks to the suggestions, I ended up with DVD Profiler, and was quite happy with it.

Problem is, I'll be picking up a Mac tomorrow, and since I'm obsessive-compulsive, I want to have something on that computer as well (because I'm not sure how much I'll be using my Windows laptop anymore).

So, to bring this whole thread back, but with a twist, can anyone recommend a good DVD collection program that's compatible with Macs?

I've come across Movie Collection (by Collectorz, same as the Windows program), and Delicious.

Anyone have experience with either of those, or know of any others?

Thanks.
