Default A list of great looking Blu-rays?

I obviously rent/purchase blu ray discs (and hd dvd *cough*) for HD content. But it seems hit or miss. Now my friend got mad at me for saying this, but I've rented some Blu Rays that really were comparable to newer movies that are shown on my cable HD. The older movies aren't even worth it over the cost of a comparable DVD.

So does anyone have a list of Blu Ray movies that are absolutely stunning looking.

For example Semi Pro, and Cloverfield (even though it was a garbage movie) were great looking movies on Blu Ray, where as Juno was kinda underwhelming and Dirty Dancing, I could have gotten on DVD.

The Invasion.

For a film that mostly got mixed to negative reviews, the PQ and AQ were above-average!

I use this thread as my personal guidance. Personally, I only buy a limited number of things on Blu-ray so 90% of my purchases have been ranked as "Tier 0" or "Tier 1". I won't buy anything with less than stellar PQ unless it is a movie I REALLY like.

In my experience I would say:

The Pirates trilogy
Most of the Harry Potter films (3 - 5)
30 Days of Night
The 5th Element Remastered
Apocalypto
Lost Season 3
Casino Royale
Alexander
The Rock
Gattaca
I am Legend
Jumper
Layer Cake
The Host
The Spiderwick Chronicles
Memento
Pan's Laybrinth
Ratatouille
Cars
I, Robot
Curse of the Golden Flower
Cast Away
Troy
Kingdom of Heaven
Kung-Fu Hustle
The Last Samurai
Live Free or Die Hard

Awesome replies guys. Obviously the movie itself matters too, but I won't mind buying a great movie that I've already seen if it looks absolutely stunning on blu ray. After all that was my main reason for diving into HD format discs, to take full advantage of my HDTV

Really? Go watch "The Longest Day","Full Metal Jacket", or "Blade Runner" before you make those kind of absurd remarks.

Watching it on Blu-Ray is like experiencing a whole new movie. Those awful 70's colors in the hotel really stand out. I was truly amazed!. You won't be disappointed
