I read in an interview with Tobin Bell (jigsaw) on Rotten Tomatoes that he is only signed on for 6 movies.
He also said that everyone had agreed that he would not come back as a spirit or ghost, and that his physical being would actually be in it.

From the looks of this poster, though, that may not be the case.

I know that this doesn't mean the series will stop at 6, just letting everyone know.

Enough! Saw blows just cheap, cheesy, lame, horror. There will probably be 10 just like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Then people will finally be sick and disgusted with how progressively bad these are getting. Then they'll stop. Then some schmuck will come along and say "hey you know what this needs? my vision! a complete reboot!" And dumbass hollywood will green light it and the remake will be equally as bad. Sooooo not interested in putting my movie time to following this series.

Pretty cool looking teaser poster. I've only seen the first. And I think the third.

The first one was good. The sequels have not been as good as the first but I have enjoyed them I admit. Part 3 is my least favorite though. I got real bored during it. I liked Part 4 and how it explained Jigsaw's origin.

From what I heard, they are planning to go all the way to Saw 6 at least. I hope they end it there though.

So, you mean, they'll sell their cheap title-franchise properties to other low-budget studios (or in Halloween's case, watch them go out-of-copyright from their old owners, and have title and character rights snapped up by lame indie producers)?
Or did you mean New Line would buy them, too?

It amazes me still that no matter how many times I see it, how people love to tell everyone how much they hate a movie or a certain set of movies.

Almost as if it would make everybody else agree with them and to really "rub it in" of how bad a movie it must be.

My point is, people will like what they like and if you don't like it then that's fine but theres hardly any need to come across completely sarcastic about things like "oh wow, another saw movie ", come on now.

Nobody is holding a gun to your head to make you watch it.

what I don't understand is why bother? if you are not interested there are plenty of other threads to read and post in. Obviously enough people like them that there are 4 movies in this case and definetly 2 more. All these "who cares", "it blows".... show is that they have bad taste (after all most people that would open a thread on a particular movie most likely care about it.

PS that poster looks cool, though I hope no one starts wearing the mask

Agreed.

I have heard a whole lot of people say they dislike the movie but in general alot of people just dislike the horror genre as a whole, so when they see another Saw movie being made, they have to add that they hate these movies or how the first was great but the rest sucked.

If you don't like the horror genre, then it's quite easy to not bother watching the next instalment, right?

Another thing on pretty much the same line is when people like to pick at movies, find all the imperfections they can and point out how terrible it is.

I couldn't care less, it entertains me and keeps me watching so again, if you don't like it then don't bother watching it.

*End rant*

I don't fully agree with that, obviously sometimes it gets exaggerated when people nit-pick everything (if nothing extraordinary and coincidental happened it most likely would not have been an interesting movie) but if someone has some issues with some parts of a movie they saw it is always fun to have such discussions (plus sometimes it can help someone that has not seen it make a decision.

Hey, look at all of those horrible Star Wars movies. Star Wars is just about the dumbest movie ever conceived, with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings right up there with it. They made like 17 Star Wars movies or something

.....so why not another SAW?
