Default site prefs: review countries

I noticed yesterday and today that there were reviews on my page that had a UK or French flag next to them: Frank, Withnail and I, The Killers, The Beast.
I verified yesterday and today that my site preferences DO NOT have those countries checked and that the United States is the ONLY country checked for news, deals, and reviews. Region free is NOT checked either.

Make sure in the top bar of the site you click on the globe and then click on the US flag.

I'm not seeing these results when I do a search. These are the reviews on the blu-ray.com home page. This problem only started Sunday. Previously the reviews on the home page were all from the US. Plus, I just also looked at that icon you mention and it IS a US flag.

You don't need to do a search to get the benefits of changing the flag in the search bar. It affects a lot more setting then just that. Interesting that the other reviews are still showing up with the US flag selected though. Can you try it in another browser and see,if it changes anything. Also try clearing your cookies.

I cleared my cookies on Firefox and I still have the same issue. I logged in with Internet Explorer and still have the same issue. This was on my home PC, I then went to my iPad and both with Safari and Atomic web browser I have the same issue.
This only started happening Sunday. Before that everything was OK.
I suspect it's a site issue.

Seems that way. Have to wait for a site admin to chime in.

Still no word from anyone on why this is happening. I get the exact same result on four Web browsers on two platforms, even after deleting cookies. Regardless of my site preferences which only has the US checked and region-free unchecked, I am seeing reviews from other countries. This despite the fact that the US flag is the one showing in the search bar.
Just as an experiment, I unchecked the US for reviews, movies, and deals, and saved my preferences. That should mean I should see absolutely nothing on my home page.
Guess what? My home page is identical to what it was before, meaning the site preferences do not work at all.

Did you click the Blu-ray.com [B] icon in the top right of the site to switch to "My settings"? Otherwise I think it might be using the last flag/country setting.

I did that and it changed to the preferences I set. I had never touched that icon previously but it changed on its own last Sunday.
That sure is obscure! What happens if I load the page with my fingers crossed while standing on my head on a month that ends in R? Does some Easter Egg pop up?
Thanks for the solution.

Now that my preferences are restored, I am again reminded that there is no preference filter for disc reviews as opposed to film reviews. Ten of the reviews on the list on my home page are for films in theaters.
I come to this site to learn about blu-ray disc news, reviews, and bargains. If I wanted film reviews I would go to rottentomatoes.com.

If you click on the "Blu-ray" tab above the reviews list (rather than the "All" tab), it will eliminate theatrical reviews from the list. Once you do this once, it will retain that view each time you revisit the site, even if you've closed your browser. It will reset if you clear cookies, but simply click on the Blu-ray tab again and it will preserve your chosen home page tabs. This works with the News list tabs as well if you only want to display Blu-ray news

Thanks that worked. Now if only...uh, can't think of any other issues.
