Default B&W's 683's 30% Off !!!!!

Bittersweet news. My local high end audio/video shop might go out of biz. Very sad news indeed. For those who have dealt with quality shops you will understand. I have dealt with this dealer since 1991 when I was getting my Luxman two channel set up. In a crazy way feels like a death of a friend. The good news is I bought a pair of the 683's for 1K. Great deal indeed. And over the weekend everything sounded better ! Blu Rays, cd's and TV. Here is a link to the above mentioned speakers. If anybody lives in the midwest and wants to know how far the drive is to this store PM me. The 30%deal is on ALL B&W's. Even the 800's for 24K

....... let me just calculate the shipping.....carry the 7.........fuel surcharge by fed-ex.......

too much

To find 30% though is INCREDIBLE..... I only talked them down 10%, and spent about $7 or 8K

Beta those 800's for 24K were quite impressive to say the least. And for shipping they only weigh 275 pounds each !!! With the money you save you can buy a 10K amp to drive em ! Ha ha !

I am sad to hear of yet another fine audio/video store going under. I'm glad you were able to get your speakers though.

I agree people would rather shop at Best buy, and others and get crappy service just to save a couple of dollars. I buy all my stuff at small Mom and Pop stores and they are very close in price but offer stellar service.

I think he was hinting at the price you paid for the speakers You said you paid 1,000k (that's $1,000,000) - I think you ment 1k or $1,000

Where in the Midwest is this store? I am moving to Omaha, NE in a month, and may sell some of my stuff to make it easier, then buy new stuff when I get there. By the way, what do you guys think of the midwest, I am moving from Souther California to there.

midwest isnt that bad. omaha....well.....has its high points. ha.

minnesota is actually pretty bad ass. my brother moved from here out to southern california and i was thinking of doing the same. completely different lifestyles between the two. obviously.

but back on topic, where is this shop? is there a reason you cant just post it on the thread instead of having to pm you?

Kansas City. About 4 hours from Omaha. Midwest compared to So Cal ? Stay there ! Get ready for bitter cold in Winter. Along with ice storms that will knock your power out for days. No power, no generator no nothin ! Omaha is nice, they have a great City Market area. Great food and shops. Better cost of living as well. Get much more house AND land for the price. Lots of land !

ugh....."prankster" kids.

ugh

but hey, if you can handle the cold, its not a bad place to live at all. you gain much much much more appreciation for each and every season living in the midwest.

that would be my biggest concern with moving to so cal. the loss of a true midwest fall.

but, the biggest plus would be not having to walk out to your car in february after work with 2 feet of snow on it

If it wasn't past the return date for my speakers, I'd seriously consider taking them back and driving to KC to get those. I'm jealous man, although it is a shame for your store to be going out of business.
