OK, I just noticed a new release for this being scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2014. I never bought this one before, so I have a few questions.
I know there are several other releases for this same film, but are they ALL the same exact disk with only different cover art? OR, are these different transfers with one being better than the other? If so, which is best? I'll post the covers, starting with the one scheduled for tomorrow. OK, so this appears to be a previous release with a new art card, but does anyone know which cover appears underneath? ![]() ALSO: Do any of these come with a SLIP COVER? ![]() ![]() ![]() I already know about this one, but I'm only interested in getting the first one. ![]() |

More chances the one with the faceplate will be the second one, since it's a "newer" cover. Also, as far as I know, there's no slipcover for any of them. Just the slipbox for the SF Trilogy set. Last edited by Majin Blu; 10-20-2014 at 05:51 PM. |

I don't think there's been a confirmation if the transfer SF used is different from the MGM release. I haven't read through the threads in a long time. I know they scored the exact same up here (PQ wise). I know the SF one actually has extras.

Yeah, no one has done a comparison. It surprises me. Maybe it's just not a popular title, despite spawning a movie franchise.

Ok, cool. Some of the art Fox puts out is really cool, but I don't get why they can't just press new artwork for the case or just make slipcovers. They're missing out on an untapped market of collectors on here who buy every slip.

I FINALLY found
![]() in my local Walmart. And as expected, it's just a cover card image over a previously released bluray. It's ok with me, I never had this yet, so I'm thrilled to finally get it. I had wondered WHICH edition I was getting, since the cover was covered up, and it turns out to be this one.... ![]() by 20th Century Fox. No extras except for the trailer. Again, it's OK with me, I prefer this cover art over the others I posted above. |
