Anyone watching it? I'm really liking the anime version so far. Although I don't really like the intro/outro music... but the music in the actual episodes is pretty good. Transformations are quite good just like they were in the books.

I also saw the trailers for the live action version and I'm not holding out much hope for that. In a word the live action one looks goofy, with the main actor not looking at all like I imagined.

I'm a fan of the original manga, and first I was really excited to hear it was getting adapted to an anime, then I was ready to ignore it when I found out about the setting and character design changes to make it more marketable (regardless of the excuses the studio gave). But I heard it was really good when it the first episode came out.

I agree. Changes notwithstanding this is a good show, and it's not suffering from the heavy censorship some other series are this season.

Yeah I can't imagine if it was censored. My gf showed me some of that show Terraformers and how it was censored. They'd have to put a box over everything hahah.

I really like the voice they got for the hand in the anime. The last episode was very good. I only read 2 or 3 of the manga books a long time ago so I've forgotten most of the changes.

It was mainly about completely changing the character designs of the main characters "so the audience could relate with them more", the ironic part is that means making them more "anime" styled and less realistic, like they were in the manga.

They also changed the setting to modern times, where the manga was a good 20 years ago iirc. So no Internet, tablets, cellphones, etc.

I just bought the Blu-Rays. Started watching it on Crunchyroll (while waiting for my movies to get here) and I really dig it.

Yesterday I ordered both Deluxe Boxes (S-1 & 2) from Amz.ca, which had the best deal on line.
I watched a couple of quick clips online just to get the 'feel' of the show first and I think I'm going to quite like these...

Couldn't help but notice, it has a little bit of a shades of "Venom" (Spiderman's nemesis) to the protagonist it seems, from a cursory glance at least. Yes I realize the story-line is entirely different though.

I finally watched it this year and loved it. Very well done. Sorry was intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I also enjoy the music quite lot. Looking forward to picking up the manga in the future.

It's on Netflix now, just in case.
