AMC's The Walking Dead Spinoff Series

AMC has created a spinoff series for The Walking Dead which is scheduled to begin filming and air sometime in the near future. Oscar-winner Adam Davidson has been selected to direct the pilot episode. The show takes place at the same time as the original series but in other parts of the world with different characters. It will also be part of Talking Dead. The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman explained "There are many corners of The Walking Dead universe that remain unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans are anxious to hear what Dave and I have been cooking up for this new universe of The Walking Dead, and I'm happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them".

This sounds like more AMC magic to me There have been great spinoffs (Frasier, etc.) but also some busts. I'd be very interested in seeing this project, though. The Walking Dead is my favorite (and only ) horror series that I watch.
