Default HEY SONY!!!!!! Request Thread

In the near upcoming firmware updates, I would like to be able to create multiple downloads (rather than one by one) from the PSN, I would also like to watch a movie/play a game while I stream/download stuff from the internet/PSN. Thats all I ask for right now.

To blu-ray.com forum members: It's pretty obvious now that studios/companies pay close attention to this site to meet the criteria of what the customer wants.

If any of you want an additional feature/add-on to the PS3/Stand-alone player, just post your requests on this thread. I want this thread to be the Official Thread for requests.

The only thing that really bugs me is that when a message is received, I don't hear a sound. I guess in-game XMB solves that a little because if I think I missed something I don't have to quit the game to check for a message.

Default Disable Internet stuff!

Here's my most desired feature: the ability to turn off the damned Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) stuff. The system menu has options to ask about enabling Internet access while playing a movie. You can chose Yes or Ask. I'd like a No option so that I don't keep getting asked the stupid question every time I insert a BD-Live enabled movie.

I agree, the ability to turn off BD live content and disable the java crap. Also, I'm tired of having to keep a DVD deck to play the stuff BD can't. Why can't Sony BD decks play Divx, avi and mpeg files??? I have cheap DVD decks that can do it...

FYI, PS3 can read DiVX & DiVX-HD (AVI), MPEG formats, WMV & WMV-HD, etc.

I don't think playing DVD or Blu-ray while downloading will be possible. It's a totally separated software that start and XBM ins't even available in that mode. You can tought, watch a Mpeg4/Divx on the HDD while downloading...

Don't want a PS3.. It won't fit in my rack and all my equipment is behind wood doors controlled via IR extenders.

It may not fit on your rack, but bluetooth will go through the wood doors... just so you know. so that wouldn't really be a concern... but i guess the point is moot since you say it won't fit anyway.

Really! I would be surprised if they pay close attention. The site is great for the format but I doubt they come here much.

i got a bunch of stuff that i want. note: all this is post 2.40, so if something is in 2.40 it won't be included here.

- Flash Support
- Cross Game Chat
- Ability to SAVE games to more than 1 location at a given time. That way I can save the game to my HDD and back it up on a flash drive at the same time.
- Better DVD upconversion, not saying SUC, its just saying that Ive seen both some HD DVD players and Oppos beat PS3 in upscaling.
- 60fps interpolation for blu-ray playback, similar to 120hz interpolation, this will help smooth the movies out for those of us that only have 60hz HDTVs.
- Ability to run reverse 3:2 pulldown for DVDs.
- Download movie/music service
- Unlock SPE that is turned off (Im not talking about the SPE for redundancy).
- More music visualizations (at least catch up with the PSP)
- Internet Radio (you should be able to access this in-game too, sony should make it mandatory).
- Improved Trophy Service (make something similar to a gamerscore, but don't completely rip off the idea)
- Alarm Clock
- Living with Playstation and Home are always welcome too.

Sony insider, paidgeek, has stated just that in the past (i.e., that some industry insiders *do* pay heed to what is discussed here). The removal of those horrible sticky labels on BD cases came about directly because of the feedback we gave Sony here. (They went from 3 labels with glue stronger than the case itself, to 1 label with weaker glue so that the label can be removed without destroying the case.)

My remote is a Pronto Neo and everything is single touch automated including lighting and screens. This is the way the wife and kids like it. I'm not about to pull out a another device to operate the PS3. I've come to far for that...
