The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Michael Bay is in talks to direct 13 Hours, the adaptation of Mitchell Zuckoff’s book about the attack on an American compound in Libya. Chuck Hogan (who wrote the original novel The Town was based on) wrote the screenplay adaptation.

The focus of the plot will be on six members of a security team that valiantly fought to defend the many Americans stationed there.

why? Michael Bay is probably one of the best possible people to direct this movie. It's going to be awesome.

Sounds interesting. Bay can probably do this. Pearl Harbor has its problems but he did a real good job on the attack scenes.

there's no silly romance plotlines to ruin the movie with.

Sean Smith was killed with a wife, son and daughter at home.

Tyrone Woods had a wife and child, and two children from a previous marriage when he was killed.

American Sniper did some decent work at the box office with similar situations.

As did Lone Survivor.

Well, it's just personal preference. I think the subject matter is interesting but there hasn't been a Bay movie I've liked, I'm afraid.

I do realize that. I haven't seen Bad Boys or Pain and Gain yet, so it's true I shouldn't speak until I see everything.

Bad Boys is decent. Bad Boys II is an overblown, incoherent mess of Bay running wild.
