This is how it works
You nominate ONE movie for the bluray Film Hall of Fame. You nominate one movie by posting its information in this format: [Name] [Year] [Movie Image] [Short Description of why the Film should be in the Hall of Fame or why its so Great] (Note your movie image may be resized by me when I add it to the voting thread) Any nominations that arent submitted correctly may be ignored Example Nomination: Tower Heist (2011) ![]() An all-star cast makes this one of the best comedies of all time. Very funny from start to finish and a great example of refined film-making. ================ You can only nominate a second film once your first nomination has been voted on in a separate thread. In that thread the most recent films will be voted on as either an "All Time Great", "Classic", "2 Thumbs Up", or "Not Hall of Fame Worthy". All Time Great is considered the highest honor, Classic the 2nd highest honor, 2 Thumbs Up the 3rd highest honor, and Not Hall of Fame Worthy means you think the film shouldnt get in. After the 6-10 films in the voting thread have been voted on for 3-5 days, I will tally the results and rank the films accordingly. If a movie received 84% of its voted as a 'classic', then that will be its ranking. A film that receives 85% of its votes as a 'classic' will be ranked ahead above it in the classic category, but ANY film that receives the majority of its votes as an 'All Time Great' will be placed ahead of it in the All Time Great category, even if it only received 42% of its votes as an all time great. Well, lets see how it goes. |

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
![]() One of the greatest "coming-of-age" films of all-time, dominated by superb acting performances by Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller. A film that'll remind you about the great times, and the tough times of life as a teenager. |

Gattaca (1997)
![]() If there ever was a movie that could inspire anybody, this is it. While many people get caught up in Gattaca's message about genetics, for me personally the film is about overcoming seemingly impossible odds to achieve your dream. Wonderful acting, a beautiful score and a touching message make this one of the great films of all time. |

DRIVE (2011)
![]() Superb performances all-round from an amazing cast make this a much more gripping and intricate film than the average thriller it could otherwise have been. Nicolas Winding Refn's direction and Hossen Amini's script also ensure that this is one of the most memorable films of the decade. |

The Castle of Cagliostro (1979)
![]() A masterpiece of animation from Hayao Miyazaki that is filled with great music, memorable characters, and a rough, but detailed style that makes it truly unique. Overall it's a powerful and magical movie that combines the style of Lupin III and Miyazaki into a creation that is unlike any other |

Blade Runner: The Final Cut (2007)
![]() Blade Runner was an art-house/science fiction/philospohical romance film decades ahead of it's time. Ridley Scott's Direction was masterfully sublime as were the subtleties of Hampton Fancher's and David Webb People's brilliant screenplay. Vangelis' music was absolutely inspired as were the cast. This amazing version was the closest to Ridley Scott's original vision of the film. Blade Runner: The Final Cut is a triumph of both aesthetics (style) and philosophical examination of the world in which it occurs (content). I forget which critic said it, but one of them once stated "Blade Runner's ultimate triumph is that no one can remember what we used to think the future was going to look like before seeing this film.". |

Jaws (1975)
![]() Steven Spielberg's classic "Jaws" is a terrifying masterpiece that helped to usher in the era of the blockbuster. After nearly 40 years, Jaws still makes us afraid to venture into the water. A worldwide phenomenon, Jaws remains a classic and iconic staple of American cinema and one of director Steven Spielberg's hallmark films. |

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
![]() 2001, as Steven Spielberg once said, was the big bang of our film generation. Before Ridley Scott realized the visually spectacular and grounded futuristic cityscapes of Blade Runner, Stanley Kubrick charted the map of our human potential from crafting tools and forging societies with dead animal bones to building worlds where space stations slowly spun gracefully to the Blue Danube, all within the presence of an ominous monolith that symbolized our evolution. If the history of film is an odyssey to itself, then Kubrick's 2001 is the monolith that catalyzed the medium's potential into greatness. |

The Thing (1982)
![]() Many people would tell you this is Carpenter's best film. While I won't necessarily agree (Halloween is that damn good), The Thing comes awfully close. It's everything a great horror movie should be, and Rob Bottin's special effects are absolutely incredible even 30+ years later. The film is oppressively grim, much more than some of Carpenter's other works, and Morricone's score is one of my favorites. It's easy to see why the film has risen from the ashes (it was a critical and commercial failure back in '82) to become a bona fide classic. |
