WHV gets this while "Yankee Doodle Dandy" was given to the Archive? HUh?

Don't understand Warner's thinking

I mean no harm in what I'm about to type but at least the wac series have been good quality pq/aq but their quasi limited nature is somewhat problematic

I'm glad "YDD" went to the archive for that very reason (they use more disc space) but the way WB allocates titles is puzzling. "YDD" was one of their top films and is considered a true classic (It's even in the AFI's top 25 musical films)

Ultimately it doesn't matter. Instead of nitpicking, you should be grateful for getting your favorites on blu. It doesn't matter who releases what; as long as it's coming from Warner and it's a deep catalogue title, we know it's bound to look great. You're the fan of musicals, and WB just announced three of them. Enjoy! Happy times!

Warner Archive titles are extremely expensive to obtain for non-Americans.

So it matters to US who releases titles.

Same with TCM exclusive titles which cost us well in excess of $20.00 each for shipping alone.

When WB themselves release a title "wide", it'll go to something like amazon.ca where I can get free shipping. Similarly, it will got to foreign amazons and other retailers where shipping is free or titles are availalbe in store.

For us foreigners, an exclusive BD from the U.S. can often cost more in shipping than the actual price of the disc.

trying to understand Warner at this point is a hopeless exercise in futility.

Just wondering how they select their titles. Not a big fan of MGM musicals the only one I'll pick up is "Kiss Me Kate"

I don't care whether it comes from WAC or WHV (actually, I prefer WAC but I'll take what I can get). Super stoked about this though.

Does anyone own this? I've read this site's review, but I'm curious about what "real folks" think about the picture quality.
