Default Fury (2014) aspect ratio change? *spoiler alert*

Is it just me who noticed this? I know that on here there is only one aspect ratio listed (2.39:1) but that's because the change I saw was such a small one (it was likely to be about 10/20 centimetres) that it wouldn't have been classed as a different aspect ratio altogether. Also, it was a gradual change, where the aspect ratios slid into one another across a set of shots e.g. Catching Fire, rather than a sudden one that occurs between different shots like in the Dark Knight Rises.
(It looked like this but the change in Fury was a lot smaller):

It took place around the part when
[Show spoiler]Fury's track came off and the crew were waiting around for the Germans to come down the road
.

I saw it at a regular 2D screening in the UK if that helps.

P.S. Does anyone have any info on what cameras Ayer used in the film? (could have something to do with it as the ratio changed
[Show spoiler]just before a big battle scene which needed to be as epic as possible
)

It was a tiny change and I mean tiny. I probably wouldn't have noticed it either if was looking at a different part of the screen.

There shouldn't be - the DCP (digital file played in theatres) is scope/ 2.39:1 only. Now, I haven't sat down and watched it yet, but in what I've seen there's nothing out of the ordinary.

Sounds like a mistake by the projectionist.

Coming to think of it, yes, that could be it. At the start,
[Show spoiler]when the German soldier is riding the horse before Wardaddy jumps down from the tank and knifes him in the eye
, there was some faint but insane ghosting (I think) where the top half image could also be seen, albeit incredibly faintly, around the bottom left corner. It was a packed screening and didn't want to ruin the non-videophiles' enjoyment (and sort of my own as I was getting into it). Apart from the aspect ratio change and the ghosting it was OK on the whole.
