Well, I just spoke with a Fox representative just a few moments ago and was told that they have finally received newly remastered disc which will correct all of the problems we've (at least me but assume others have faced similar problems) been experiencing with DTS-HD MA for this movie. According to him, these will be sent out to customers who have notified them that they've experience a problem and have registered their name, address and telephone number with Fox within the next few days (fingers crossed)! Their number, if you want to receive a replacement is: 1-888-223-2369.

I got my Die Hard 2 replacement disk today. Interestingly, it is not just the disc, but the case too just as if you had bought the single movie.

I won't be able to test it today though.

I forget what the issue was, was it no sound? My copy appears to be okay unless the problem was something less noticable.

Yes! No sound at all if you select DolbyTrue HD.

I'm assumng you mean DTS-MA??? If so then my copy is good to go.

My mistake; DTS-MA was the problem if you wanted to listen to this lossless audio codec with an appropriately equiped receiver/preamp.

So it would just play the core track, right? The lossless audio portion was missing? Just out of curiosity, do we know if it was ALL discs or just some? I tried watching it the other day and the PS3 displayed that it was playing the DTS-HD MA track but I want to make sure that further down the line if/when I get a standalone player that bitstreams the sound that I'll be able to still use the DTS-HD MA track.

I think you're right, I believe the issue was with bitstreaming the DTS-MA through some (all?) stand-alone players and only getting the DTS core. I could be wrong but that sounds very familiar.

Received my replacement copy today by DHL.

Unfortunately the DTS-HD MA soundtrack is still silent when bitstreaming.

I contacted David at Fox to let him know. He said they received their replacement copies last week & took down my info again.

If you receive a replacement copy please post if your replacement copy will or will not play the bitstreamed DTS-HD MA soundtrack when you get it.

If it doesn't play please call Fox to let them know the replacement copies aren't working.

Hopefully they will get this worked out in the 2nd batch.

I ordered my copy back when this occurred without fully realizing that it was for bitstreaming and not via PCM. It's not an issue with the PS3 since it's PCM.

I never heard anything about it and figured the issue was dropped without me following through more, and here today I got my replacement copy. It's all sealed up and everything, and ... honestly I'm not sure I'm going to even open it. I know my copy of DH2 works great over PCM and I'm probably not going to get a standalone any time soon.

Not sure what to do with this.

Well, I just received mine via DHL too! Like the fact that they gave me a free case (even though I didn't need it) but didn't like the fact that the disk still wouldn't play DTS-HD MA!

My other 3 Die Hard blu-ray disk play DTS-HD MA fine as does Master and Commander! see link: http://www.foxbd.com/choose/new/ Apparently, FOX has really lousy quality control so I've already left a message for them to call me.
