The Christine blu ray for Australasia seems identical to the german one which was pretty much the same as the limited edition twilight time one from the USA sans the isolated score.

The TT disc and the new Sony discs are not the same encode, the video bitrate for the TT disc is almost 10000 kbps higher.

I didnt say they have the same encode but they look pretty much identical by all accounts and by comparing screencaps, even in motion.

Didn't you say the other week that the local version of The Burbs looks better than the UK Arrow release

I agree, they do, however I did think a few scenes of the TT disc looked slightly better, but nothing to write home about.

Well I have not watched the TT version but have seen the comparison stills which are pretty much identical to the naked eye and ive read in several reviews that you cannot see a difference in motion either but yeah perhaps there a re a few scenes that are more noticably different.. if you've seen both through then you'd know best.

no idea about 4k, probably not but it does look amazing, a top notch transfer

Literally nothing that's been said on the subject in this thread serves as proof Christine is from a 4k scan. Yes, clearly Sony has given 4k scans to a great many of its catalogs. Do we know Christine is among them? Yes, the presentation looks pretty good. It also doesn't look like anything we haven't seen on a bilion other catalogs with a decent 2k scan and competent encode. So unless someone can cite a TT/Sony rep stating definitively this is from 4k, let's kindly drop the "I'm positive" and "Definitely" 's.

In a facebook reply, TT replied to a poster that their re-releases of Christine and Fright Night would feature the same 4k masters as before but would include previously not included special features.

"As before" being the key words obviously.

I picked up a copy of the local release today for comparison. Just in the process of doing a BDInfo scan and will do some comparisons with my Twilight Time disc as well. Two things of note so far for those interested: our release has 16-bit audio in comparison to 24-bit on the Twilight Time release and the bitrate for the video is about 10Mbps lower. Will have some BDInfo scans and screenshots a little later tonight.

Yes, clearly Sony has given 4k scans to a great many of its catalogs. Do we know Christine is among them? Yes, the presentation looks pretty good. It also doesn't look like anything we haven't seen on a bilion other catalogs with a decent 2k scan and competent encode. So unless someone can cite a TT/Sony rep stating definitively this is from 4k, let's kindly drop the "I'm positive" and "Definitely" 's.

Just in the process of doing a BDInfo scan and will do some comparisons with my Twilight Time disc as well. Two things of note so far for those interested: our release has 16-bit audio in comparison to 24-bit on the Twilight Time release and the bitrate for the video is about 10Mbps lower. Will have some BDInfo scans and screenshots a little later tonight.
