![]() ![]() https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-P...lu-ray/118736/ So, this masterpiece comedy got released over here on Nov 6 from MGM, and a French release will follow in December - yeah, majors in Europe are still alive and kicking. Kino released this in the US, but the European disc has got some features that make it the definitive edition. The first "upgrade" concerns the PQ: the master is the same licensed to Kino (you can see below the same white spot in the first cap, for instance), but luckily MGM used a BD-50; 29 GB for the feature against the 19 on the Kino. Colours are a tad richer and more convincing, and it will prove more solid in motion. Secondly, the disc provides 5 audio options and several subtitle tracks (I updated the release profile a while ago; check in a few hours for the full specs). Kino's shoddy release doesn't have any subs at all... Lastly, the MGM lists more extras, all in SD except for the trailer, and all of them feature subtitles in 6 languages. They are: Inside The Party (24:00) The Party Revolution (16:30) Blake Edwards Profile (6:00) Ken Wales Profile (7:20) Walter Mirisch Profile (4:25) Vintage interviews with Peter Sellers (21:00) - exclusive to the MGM Commercials (3:00) - exclusive to the MGM Trailer (1080p; 2:01) Region ABC. Retail price in store is pretty ridiculous, only 9,90€; 8,90€ at DVD-store.it. Caps: Kino (left) vs MGM (right) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Dan8700; 11-21-2014 at 09:07 PM.
