This comedy-drama finds Tony (Frank Sinatra) the proprioter of a Miami Beach hotel. A widower with a young son, he asks his rich older brother Mario (Edward G.Robinson) for money to help keep the business going. Mario and his wife travel from New York to Miami. Convinced Tony is an idle dreamer, Mario plans to gain custody of his nephew. His plans change when he conspires to set Tony up with a wealthy widow (Elanor Parker).
