Second zone remote??

I have an Elite 92 that can be used to power up a second zone for listening. I have seen other comparable receivers that have this feature, but have a remote for a second zone. Now maybe I am reading into this too much, but if you have that second zone on another floor, or outside like I know many have. What good is the second remote? Unless it has bluetooth, like the PS3 does, it usually will not execute commands through walls. Thoughts??
