Could be. Sure it looks like Vurder's codpiece, "belt buckle??", "gadgets" and gloves.

But it could be the supposed Durth Vurder wannabe, Kylo Ren, cosplaying... and what the photo doesn't show is the younger Slave Leia cosplayer on his side.

Ren has supposedly attended ComicCon for the last 6 years dressed in his Vurder getup.

But, seriously, thanks for clearing all of that up with us. We needed it.

At least 2 sources have confirmed that Episode VII will feature a flashback/vision sequence with Darth Vader and a young Princess Leia (think pre-ANH). That's probably why the suit is there with Warrick in that pic.

There's still some mystery surrounding the characters played by Max Von Sydow and Andy Serkis. Insiders have told us that their characters will resonate deeply with the fanbase (meaning they must have been in or mentioned in the earlier 6 films), without disclosing what exactly they mean by that.

I'm still wondering if Sydow might be playing the ghost of Anakin or Obi-Wan.

Ah, I must have missed the info on the flashbacks. I saw it speculated, didn't realize it was confirmed.

Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd was cast to - presumably play the role her own mother made famous. Shouldn't be a problem to get the physical likeness really really close, I guess.

As for Sydow's character, I've read somewhere that he's a real person (not a Force ghost) and he might be a friend/associate of Daisy Ridley's character. Some insiders insist that when his identity is revealed, it will resonate with fans - whatever that means. I've read speculations he could be Sifo-Dyas/Boba Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi's brother/Santa Claus etc... you get the idea.

Would be interesting.

But I seem to remember reading speculation that he'd be some kind of old inventor dude. The artwork could to match up with that, and the fact that he's supposed to tie into Daisy's character (also an tech-savvy person, judging from the trailer) makes sense to me.

Still can't think about who it could be. Chances are that 11 months from now we'll all see it and go "oh yeah, duh."

He would tie into Daisy's character. He'd be her (adopted) grandfather. It would make sense he would be watching over her. Wouldn't make sense he disappeared during the OT. And that he's not Jimmy Smits.

They could always use a very small amount of post-production to adjust her features for a perfect match after filming...provided we ever see Leia's face in the flashbacks, of course.

The rumor that MVS's character was an existing PT character came from the reddit "leak" that was completely invalidated when the EW trading cards revealed the character names which of course weren't even close to the made-up ones.

All I know is that there is no way on earth that Vader other than being a blue glowie as Anakin can be in this film. If they go the route of Clone then this film will have for sure:

There's a rumored flashback scene involving Vader, meaning that, just for a short while, they'll go back in time and show him when he was still alive and kicking as a Sith. There's no bringing him back into the "present day" of the timeline, so you don't have to worry about that. The main villains will be all new ones, I'm sure.
