That's nothing, youngster. Back in my day, I had to walk uphill both ways in the snow just to get my tin to the Pony Expressman. And he could take years to get my rootin' tootin' package to me.

to be fair they usually list the months releases as having a "tentive street date" because I think they would love to get them shipped asap again each months releases are different. It depends on when their shipments arrive.

There have been some months where the dates have been pushed back and no one gets happy about that either. I think those who are cranky over it need to just brace themselves that this is a boutique label and that it is a general release date. It doesn't mean you will get it that day. Set your viewing plans accordingly.

Exactly. Not to mention, all of us who actually were able to get a copy(or multiple in some cases)should be thankful for that.

That hasn't always been true, tell that to those that had their orders for The Blob cancelled because SAE oversold.

I'm not going to have a meltdown over it, in the event I get a late shipping notice. I've ordered from TT before, and the package typically arrives either a day or two after the release date, or within a week's time. If TT oversold this disc ala the Blob then there's a legitimate beef with TT, I placed my order within an hour of the time the disc went up for sale, I'm not worried at all about getting screwed out of a copy of the disc.

Just checked the email account associated with my PayPal, and I got a shipping notice on the 17th of January. I wonder if it is because I ordered within the first hour? Curious...

I also remember those days. No real rush for me as long as I know it's coming. I've waited three years already, another few weeks certainly wouldn't bother me. That said, my shipping label has been created. It's all good with me.

That's my attitude about it as well. My order is still pending, but I have no worries about receiving the disc, so what if it's been delayed for some reason, and it ends up arriving sometime next week. I can be patient.

The preorders go live about 3 weeks before the official release date but I think it's safe to assume that TT (or Screen Archives) has stock in-hand even before the preorder goes live. It wouldn't make much sense to wait until the last minute to start shipping all those orders, potentially angering hundreds of customers who expect it by the street date. Add to this the fact that it's a federal holiday, which will add another 24 hour delay, and you've got a potential customer service nightmare. Of course, none of this applies to those of us who are patient and don't need to have it in our hands right this second.

On a few occasions they've had delays that have caused their preorders to ship a week or two later. So there's absolutely zero evidence that they have stock available on preorder date and there's actually evidence to the contrary.

not really. they've stated many times that sometimes they don't get stock in till a day or so before release date, sometimes it's been AFTER release date. remember these guys are REALLY low down on the priority chain for many a pressing facility so they get them when they can.

that looks pretty sweet. TT has definitely upped the quality of their cover arts over the years.

just received my shipping confirmation
shipped through First Class, last i placed an order through them the shipped it through Priority Shipping (maybe it was a promotion during that time, it was during when the TT was in special for $20)

Does anyone know if they will have another promotion on their TT for $20? (thats when i bought a couple of the movies that i wanted)

It's possible, but I think highly unlikely they'll have one this year, given they had their first sale was on a 3 year anniversary. Maybe next year (for the 5th), but I'm sure they are very conscious of maintaining value on their product, even if it means sitting on inventory longer than they want to.
