With the Dreyer films from BFI and the Tarkovsky films from AE already announced, it's incredible to have these Kitano films on the way as well.
I'll be seeing Han Gong-ju this weekend, stoked for that one. Also looking forward to check out Greatful Dead and World of Kanako.

Just ordered Lesson of Evil. I've already got most of the TWF and will be ordering the other blu-rays when I can get them for £10 shipped each. Unfortunately the Australian dollar is pretty weak against the GBP. I wish I could pre-order them all and pay roughly £14 eery time but £10 is almost $20.

I can't justify paying about $28 for every movie but you have my support with practically every title! Can't wait for all these upcoming ones.

There wasn't any news. Arrow just posted a happy birthday to Kitano and asked what films of his would we like to see them release. It's a regular variant of their 'Happy Birthday' posts.

I'm not sure Arrow has anything planned for Kitano. They might just be doing a bit of networking, or simply look at what title might be interesting for them to try and secure.

My bad, then! I read too much into it, still thanks for the early kitanos releases.

Late to the party - GREAT EFFING NEWS!

Gonna get all three. Hana-bi and Kikujiro I already have on DVD and I'd been meaning to get Dolls so now can wait for the blu-ray. Probably the most exciting films TWF have picked up since Tetsuo, am I right?

Have been waiting for some more Kitano on blu-ray and these are the best three to start with I'm sure. Fingers crossed we get more. If Arrow got some it'd likely be his more violent yakuza films, right?

This is fantastic news. Glad to hear Gareth Evans is in on this and he deserves 1000 thanks for helping bring these to the UK. One question though - is it September/October/November release dates like it says in the original article, or October/November/December ones like it says in the Blu-ray.com news bulletin?

not 100% sure on release dates so it could be either of the 2 sets. depends also on snake of june pre-orders and world of kanako success for cash-flow needs

Ah screw it, I'll bite the bullet and order some TWF titles above my £10 limit. I really want those Kitano titles and want to help that happen. Big fan of Third Window Films.

way to go ! i own most releases (DVD and bluray) there is really some nice stuff to discover in the DVD department.

Make sure to get "for loves sake" and "vulgaria" love em both
See you tomorrow is one of my all time favorite DVD releases

highly recommend getting a bunch of DVD if Adam has another sale.

i would be really corious about sale numbers for some of these movies.
i think its really a huge gamble to invest in these movies
(some of them avaible on DVDs for years, and avaible on the used market real cheap).

think for a lot of pre-orders that the price will go down closer to the time and you'll only pay the lower price as part of amazon guarantee.

right now pre-orders are at a high price, but they'll go down

after release who knows what they'll do unfortunately...

for the Kitanos, will do a limited 1,000 copy run with new artwork and removable case for each title, then will just be normal release. might include extras in the limited which aren't on normal, but not sure yet

Maybe a booklet would be worth the limited edition? I don't know how printing costs compare, but that way you wouldn't have to pay BBFC fees and I often find that they have just as much value as video extras.

Wait, so the Kitano titles are gonna be a set? If so that's excellent - I was planning on getting all three anyway!
