I saw [REC] 4: Apocalypse when it came out on VOD here in the states back in January. I would give it a 7/10. I actually watched it in a marathon with [REC] and [REC] 2 (I skipped 3 after reading it had nothing to do with the first two other than it was the same virus). I think it is hard to compare 4 to 1 and 2 since the found-footage point-of-view is dropped, but I do think it is a very good zombie film that thankfully keeps the setting in tightly-closed spaces just like the first two. There is more edge-of-your-seat action here though (and arguably more blood also), and it wastes no time in setting up the situation and the characters. There is a small twist towards the end that some might guess halfway through the film (or it will at least keep you guessing throughout). Angela is different in this film as she becomes less damsel-in-distress (if you have seen the second one you will understand partially why), unlike her character in the first one. Overall I really liked it and I actually bought the German version since I did not want to wait to own it months later.
