If it has English subtitles, at least, I may just give in.
Do you mean the Finnish/Scandinavian release? Why do you feel Lionsgate wouldn't release it on Blu-ray in the US?

The Scandinavian DVD is anarmorphic widescreen. I have this DVD

Shout Factory! owns the rights on all Sir Lew Grade movies that were produced by him....-including "Love and Bullets".

Therefore it doesn´t matter whether the US-DVD is full screen.

There´s no reason why "Love and Bullets" would not get a blu-ray release by Shout Factory!

It depends on what master material is available to them. There are widescreen DVD releases of Love and Bullets that were released before their version, yet they still ended up releasing a fullframe version.

Full frame was very popular in VHS & the early days of DVD (much to the chagrin of those of us who wanted to see the whole picture). Many consumers hated the black bars and wanted the movies to look "good" ... "like they did on TV".

My double-feature coaster arrived today and I jumped right in. I was really disappointed when I saw the sound was mono 1.0 (really doesn’t work well with my system ). I don’t know where I picked up the idea that these were stereo. Anyway, I was going to watch Telefon first - as so many folks said that St. Ives looked better. But I’m a slave to chronology so I watched St. Ives first.

Long time since I’d seen this flick and I’d forgotten how good it was and how many solid people were in it. This wasn’t Death Wish 2-5 with mostly second tier people : Jacqueline Bisset, John Houseman, Maximilian Schell, Dana Elcar and literally a host of well-known character actors were on their game and first rate! I loved the wrap-up and the surprise ending - and especially the hilarious closing bit! “Good luck, Charlie” indeed.

Telefon : What can I say - a great movie and one of the most atrocious transfers that I have ever seen. This is why I gave up on coasters. I hope this isn’t the best source they have if it ever does come to BD.

Don't forget Jeff Goldblum... he plays a heavy, just like he did in Death Wish.

So I stumbled across this badass Charles Bronson T-Shirt on etsy for $15, looked really high quality so I had to have it and couldn't pass it up. I ordered one along with some super wicked Bronson stickers that get thrown in for free on every order!

here's the sellers pics:

Does anybody have the Japanese BD of "The Valachi Papers"? It's actually up for a really good price, I might make an order if I can find something else I want on Amazon JP.

This is a good candidate for a release from Kino.

I have it and its fine although as pointed out it's not Dutch. DW5 has never looked glossy but its Death Wish so not supposed to . It still has the tv movie feel it had on dvd.

I have the US Blurays of the first , third and fourth movies but as the second one is cut to bits I've retained my Australian dvd of that.

DW2 with the cuts made is rather like Close Encounters without the Mothership

Crap! What cuts!? I recently got DW2 with the BD set of DW 2-4. First mention I've heard of "cuts".

Cuts to the rape scene and the Impalement. It was always cut in the US. The cuts doesn't bother me.

So, neither of these alternate versions is available on BD, right? Only on DVD - somewhere?

Just on DVD in other countries. All that's really missing on the BD is the extended rape scenes anyway.

Yeah, and reading about it made me sick anyway, so ... to that.

The HDTV version that aired on MGM HD is suprisingly the uncut version.
