I was hoping others could chime in to say if I'm correct or if I was missing any colors. Here is what I have seen in the world of blu-ray so far:
Red - both solid (Birdman) and translucent (Bronson - French). Also, PS3 cases that are solid red, but seem slightly different than regular blu-ray cases, size wise. Orange- Viva Elite cases are a lighter orange and have the stamped blu-Ray logo on front. Halloween II from France has an embossed logo and is a darker orange. Both appear translucent. Yellow - Translucent yellow for "Shameless" releases that also have an embossed "Shameless" logo on front. A solid, yet washed out (pastel) yellow for Hero of Color City. A solid, "regular" yellow for Solarbabies (Germany). Not sure which color Le Mac is/was? Green - light translucent green for releases like The Grinch and Incredible Hulk. A solid light green for the Japanese release of TMNT. Dark Green - for Christmas Vacation (boxed set) that looks solid when closed / translucent when held up to the light. Blue - Generally, the blue cases are consistently the same translucent color across the board. However, German company Kronenberg sells opaque blue, which appears light blue and PS4 cases are a darker translucent blue, but thicker. Purple - translucent cases for Bright Star (versions from France and Hong Kong). Solid "sparkly" purple for Rock of Ages (England). No solid "regular" purple that I know of. Pink - translucent for many releases. Solid pink for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (Japan). White - Solid White for releases like Kaboom (France). Clear/Frosted - (obviously translucent) - mostly for 3D / Criterion releases. Variety of different logo/thickness formats. Gold - Only sold in France and Germany so far - all opaque. Maroon/Crimson - HD DVD cases, all translucent I believe. Black - these cases come in a variety sizes, both translucent and opaque. Gray/Grey - "Smokey" grey/blackish cases - translucent and opaque available in Japan (examples from poster below). Silver - Custom PS3 European cases are a bulkier opaque silver. German company Kronenberg sells thinner silver versions. That's it I guess! I have never seen Brown, Aqua/Turquoise, Magenta, or anything else. But almost 25 variations is pretty cool! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by JoeGillis; 06-12-2015 at 03:40 PM. |
