Default Anyone interested in Sega Arcade games for PSN?

There is a new emulator for Sega's archaic Model 2 arcade chipset available for PC. A friend of mine is banging on about how its so brilliant and allows him to relive the memories of arcades circa 1994.

So I had a thought. Model 2 is well within the capabilities of the PS3 and PSN is designed with arcadey type games in mind. So why does Sony not license Sega's whole model 2 range of titles for PSN?

Remember the Daytona deluxe cabinets that 8-10 units bolted onto each other with cameras pointing at each player. You could recreate that experience on PSN. Bombing around Sonic corner with that famous "DAYYYYYYYTONA" soundtrack with eyetoy and PSN chat.

I am very disappointed with PSN games overall and I think it would be great to be able to just have a 15 minute blast on something that doesn't drain your brain too much. Just clock in to PSN, join a Daytona race in 30 seconds and wham, off you go!

Of course Scud Race, Sega Rally, Manx TT, Virtua Fighter 2, House of the Dead could all be added too. They would all fit into the realm of great PSN gaming.

Because of the way PSN works, I think its better for the public to choose what goes on it. We don't get a choice of anything else its always up to the devcos. Sony should reward people who play on PSN by trying to license something that gets a high enough petition vote.

So do you think A) Model 2 emulation is a good idea or B) Sony listening to its customers by licensing products which get the greatest votes. If you think they are a good idea put your ideas here. Lets hear yours. We have PSN, let us vote for what we can have.

My vote is for Scud race and Daytona PSN. Whats yours?

Regards,

Richard.
