Charlize Theron Appreciation Thread

I have a slightly over the top obsession with Charlize Theron, and I wanted to give her an appreciation thread !!



Charlize is a South African and American actress, producer, and model .
She had her film debut in which she had no lines in Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest in 1995 .



In 2004, she became the first South African to ever win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Monster, where she starred as real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos . Roger Ebert called this "one of the greatest performances in the history of cinema ."


She was also nominated in 2006 for her role in North Country, but lost to the beautiful Reese Witherspoon for her role in Walk The Line .

She became a U.S. citizen in 2007, while retaining her South African citizenship . That very same year, she started The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) in order to support African youth in their fight against HIV/AIDS .



In 2008, Theron was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace .
She is involved in women's rights organizations and has marched in pro-choice rallies . She is an active member of PETA and also supports same-sex marriage .
She adopted a child, Jackson, in 2012 .
