Alternatively the AUS Region B releases which are the exact same discs but in 5 volumes (~$23 USD per volume) with a box with Volume 1 (if you get V1+Box edition). If y'all don't like digipacks and boxes that open at the top.

GWG: possible to get solo shots of your Hanamonogatari & Garden of Sinners recalled sets so I can add them to the master slipcover list?

Sure, but I just got home and won't get a chance to take any photos tonight - I'll get them up tomorrow night for you...

Ended up getting the standard editions of SAO. Standard but still pricey, but still within my limit compared to the LE sets. Was hoping they'd at least come in a slipcover but no such luck. Just the cases -

Am planning to get the standard editions for SAO 2 as well but am wondering why each vol costs $10 more compared to SAO 1? With the LE sets costing just $20 more, I may just hunker down and get those instead.

If you wait until a sale from wherever might sell it, pick up the Australian Volume 1 + Box for SAO, it can hold those four volumes :P

Does Australia have a similar box set for Madoka? I still haven't bought the city because I hate the single volumes and the LE's are at absurd prices now.

There is, it's a little older (and I think it sold better than SAO because Australian's know where it's at) so it might be harder to find and probably will be harder to get below retail (AUS stuff rarely goes above retail for hard to find stuff btw) but that's not an issue for Madoka because it's the same disc count and episode distribution as AoA so you might as well get the whole thing from AUS instead of getting all of it locally then buying the V1 + Box like I suggested for SAO (as we have 4 discs instead of 8 for SAO). USD is going well against us at the moment much to my disdain so I'd say now is as good a time as ever.
I'm not completely fond of the design on it myself and I am a massive fan so I went straight for the US LEs but I do have the Australian release of the films, which for the first two has the same design as the US release but in a proper rigid box.

Ignoring the signatures it looks like this

Well then you're missing out. I myself would like to buy Monaco but first I need to somehow become close enough with all the residents to be able to have access to a large enough sum of money... Or be Blair from Gossip Girl and get in with the Prince of Monaco.

Oh God....like the UK rating logos! haha

I mean...common....we know what it is rated no need to plaster it all over the awesome art. And those aren't stickers like some of the AUS releases are they?

Not quite sure what you're talking about, it's kind of a legal obligation to have those ratings here, I can't think of any occasion where it was a sticker. A wrap around, yes. A sticker, no.
I'm used to them, anyway. Much better than those unsightly UK ratings.

Do you have a link to that one anywhere? I can't seem to find it.

You get used to them. I'll take the ratings logos on a few of my releases over spending an extra $110 dollars for SAO or extra $170 for Fate/zero (even with slight VQ differences).

Regarding overspending, I hear where you're coming from. I try to be sensible (and succeed for the most part) but will sometimes treat myself to pricier versions of my favorite shows on occasion when funds allow. The vid snob in me in particular can run pretty strong and is what mostly compels me to go with the more expensive AoA version. To me the the PQ of the UK version of Fate Zero overall looked decent but had glaring flaws that were bad enough for me to want the AoA upgrade (see here and here). But yeah, that price difference though. I can totally understand where most people would say that it isn't worth it and that I am crazy for spending that much more for better brightness, but it is what it is.

On that other side of the coin the cheaper UK version of Blue Exorcist looks pretty flawless, video quality wise, it's pretty much an exact copy of the higher priced AoA release - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=92

I know what you mean. I'll make a few exceptions for my favorite shows from AoA. I bought all the limited edition Kill la Kill sets and will be doing the same with the SAO II limited editions (I need that beautiful box art with Sinon on it). I've gotten plenty of good deals from the UK side of things though including Madoka and a few other non AoA releases like Toradora and something I'm surprised we don't have here yet in Code Geass.

How long you would all say the Aniplex releases of Kill La Kill should be available? New to this so not sure how much time I have to pickup the entire set.

That's up in the air. The first volume has been out since July of last year, and they still have the limited edition in stock (along with the regular version).

I don't think it will be a set time frame, merely whenever they run out of stock. Could be tomorrow, could be next year.
