Default Sony BDU-X10S problems

My Blu-Ray discs were playing fine. I had Power DVD 7.3 installed. I was watching "There Will Be Blood" and it froze right at the point that Daniel Day Lewis's char meets the guy claiming to be his brother as they sit down to the table when he mentions "You just now decided to show up?" I chalked that up to my Windows Media Center starting to record and that I may need another stick of memory. I only have 2 gig in the PC right now. So, I went to the software disc I got with the drive and it linked me to Sony's website and I updated the firmware. Now, the drive does not even recognize Blu-Ray discs. I wondered if Windows' drivers were not up to date. But it kept saying that the driver for the drive was the best--- CDROM.SYS. I wonder if there is supposed to be a BDROM.SYS? I do have Service Pack 1 installed. I did that after this stuff happened. DVDs and CDs run fine in it still. I wonder if there is a way to back-flash the firmware?
