So they're using different masters then what viz media used? Does that mean they are sing the new HD masters that the studio came out with?

Nothing solid at this point. Madman has pretty much the same deal as Viz in that they are releasing the entirety of the series plus Crystal, however nothing has been said about a blu-ray release. All we know is that they are using a different master than what Viz had access to, so it's anyone's guess at this stage. Fingers crossed regardless. There will be no such thing as a "Sailor Moon HD Master" until Toei decides to spend the money on rescanning the original film, which they will never do because they're cheap. Whatever master Madman is receiving, you can bet it's just another SD master à la the Italian sets. Of better quality than the Viz release? Probably. But we will never see true HD Sailor Moon, which is a damn shame because anime on film looks so good on Blu-ray...

It's still up in arms as to whether or not the original film masters even exist anymore.

Even if they don't, you'd think they'd at least have inter-positives or hi-res scans somewhere. Hands down, Toei sucks.

Toei doesn't want to bother, and they hate film grain. The only times they actually remaster stuff instead of handing it to the morons at Q-TEC to destroy the thing, is with movies, and even then, they have DNR (Think Cardcaptor Sakura, YuYu Hakusho). Toei is a cheap, ignorant, and plenty of times incompetent company (See: DBZ Kai Final Chapters being cropped to 16:9 and being VERY green.) in so many ways, so it shouldn't surprise anyone.

Does anyone have the number to call and order the replacement for the sailor moon r blu ray cover? I ordered it 2 weeks ago and nothing showed up. I wanna call them invade it doesn't arrive today.

Hey, did the listing for R Part 1 just disappear from Amazon? All I'm finding is the DVD and regular BD.

NEvermind, it must have been a glitch as it is showing up now.

Sailor moon r part one has a limited edition version. And that's just it its limited ones they run out at viz they won't make any more all that will be for sale left will be the regular blu ray and the dvd.

Thanks the mail just arrive and no replacement cover. I'm gonna call in a bit and find out what happened.

Alright just called and they are sending me out a new replacement for my ripped replacement cover insert (that never arrived) lol. They told me it will ship Monday. They also said they are gonna put on the computer to package the insert more carefully lol. So now I wait another week to see if it comes. Meanwhile if the cover insert that never arrived arrives tomorrow then I'll have 3 cover inserts with the fixed reverse image lol.

The replacement insert for sailor moon r that never arrived, it arrived today. It is ripped free which is good. Now after the one I order in Friday (thinking this one was never going to arrive) arrives I'll have 3 of the inserts.

That I know, but seeing as how Amazon still has the first season's LE available, R should be available for a long time too. It was just weird how one minute it wouldn't come up at all and then about 20 minutes later it did.

Yeah, I don't have a region-free DVD/BD player. And even if I did, PAL to NTSC conversion isn't always so smooth, unless your HDTV is calibrated super specifically. I'll stick with the Viz release.
