Already seen the lossless screenshots elsewhere and wow, it looks mighty impressive!

Now the wait game begins. Hopefully by 2018 FUNimation will have it out.

I do somewhat agree, as what is touted as definitive "archival" releases they don't really come off as such in rather difficult packaging. But I repackage all my digipack imports anyway so I'll probably be opening this set once or twice at most and just taking out the discs (Or perhaps I'll take them out once, then put them back once I've remuxed)

If this comes out over here, it will be like... the 4th time I've bought it? I had the LDs, the first DVD set and then the platinum set. It's up there with Star Wars and few others for rebuys.

the 2007 box was better in terms they were housed in actual cases. It seems to me they will fall apart so I probably will rarely touch this.

Foundation probably wouldn't even be able to have the rights for this in a decent time-frame considering 3.33 has yet to appear and that has to be schedule for release almost 2 years ago in the US.

I wish 2007 box had the outer cardboard box it makes seem more special to have those boxes at least it does to me.

At least End of Eva was fairly straight forward to do

End of Eva's got some crappy sub problems (translation errors, timing issues).

Love to get this set, but the current price range is a bit high for me.

Hopefully by Christmas time, i'll get lucky by some guy selling one for at least $200.

I'll whisper this as I realise how sacrilegious this is to many, but......I watched Eva dubbed.....

No issue with muxing in the English audio track

Maybe, but it's how I've always watched it, so I'll know no difference

At least until there's a decent fansub available!

I don't trust any dub that can't pronounce the name of the titular robot correctly.

Do they say "Evan-jelion" than Evangelion?

Guess so because that's how it should not be said. I've only ever seen the Japanese version subbed as I'm not interested in English dubs (maybe FUNimation could change this for me ).

The dubs say "AY-vangelion" instead of "EH-vangelion," while Manga's trailers for Death & Rbirth and EOE pronounced it "EE-vangelion."

This might sound like a little thing to the uninitiated, but when you're so used to the "correct" pronunciation, the fact that virtually everyone everywhere says it incorrectly can drive you crazy.

Box aside, I think they did a pretty good job cleaning up and making the TV series pop, without completely taking the feel away from the time period. EoE doesn't look all that much different to me, but then again I didn't really watch it entirely just yet. I thought it'd be the other way around.

Thanks for that.

I get a sour taste whenever I hear the word "Saiyan" pronounced wrong by FUNimation or its viewers. Just the other day I bought Attack of the Saiyans and the guy behind the counter read Saiyans the same way as I do, Sai-yans. Not Say-uns. Ah, well, they're used to it so it's not their fault.

Dunno, EoE looked pretty fantastic to me tbh - finished watching it an hour or so ago.

End of Eva looks great. Keep in mind that the movie has always had a slightly rough look, which I believe is deliberate.
