After kicking ass in John Wick, bring Keanu in as the primary villain! That would be badass!

I'd also add, EX3 suffered from a lack of Terry Crews. I know it was because he was filming Brooklyn 99, but man he was fun in 1 & 2.

If ANY of the originals need to go, it's Couture. I've never cared for his character (nothing against him personally); and wished it would've been him in the hospital in 3 instead of Crews.

My team: Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Statham, Snipes, Lundgren, Crews and Banderas. That's a kick-ass team (IMHO).

That would be cool, agreed.

Nice team.

Get Liam Neeson in there too.
I'd like to see Jackie Chan in there but heard he wasn't interested unless he had a bigger role.

There were rumors of Milla Jovovich too, from the Resident Evil movies.

----
Part 2 was my favorite one, then part 3, then part 1.

Realistically, they'd never get someone like Liam Neeson or Keanu Reeves. Milla Jovovich would be a possibility. Basically you're looking for actors who aren't getting the kind of roles or salary they used to -- Christopher Lambert, for example.

A Liam Neeson, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Donnie Yen movie would have to be it's own thing.

Exactly - these movies were initially designed to showcase Action Stars of yesteryear, so to speak, who had their heyday back in the 80s & 90s.

So no way would Liam, Keanu, Tom, Denzel, Matt take part in these (they don't Need to).

As for Milla, she's a possibility tho she (like Ronda Rousey & a few others from the last one) falls out of the criteria, no? (too young, wasn't around doing movies like Sly, Arnie, etc.).

True but don't they already have some of today's action stars as well? I mean there's Jason Statham and some others that are today's action stars.

Yes, true & good point. But my thing was they were Mainly supposed to have action stars from the older days, lol, & Jason's been around a bit now, so he at least, has some legs in terms of semi-veteran Action Star

Stallone could get Keanu if he wanted him. From everything i've read about Keanu, he's not the type to 'demand' a particular salary. He does it because he likes it.

I think Stallone, Lerner and Nu Image had their chance with The Expendables and blew it. Another studio could take the same actors and put them into a Dirty Dozen, Great Escape, Magnificent Seven, Heat type of movie.

Plus, mainly thanks to The Matrix Trilogy, he doesn't need the money, like a fair amount of the others

Quote:
Keanu's Salary for The Matrix films:

THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS - Worldwide: $427,343,298
$15,000,000 + 15% of the gross = $64M extra

THE MATRIX RELOADED - Worldwide: $742,128,461
$15,000,000 + 15% of the gross = $111.3M extra

THE MATRIX - Worldwide: $463,517,383
$10,000,000 + 10% of the gross = $46.3M extra

That's $221.6M in Additional salary, on top of the initial $40M he was paid - so yea, $261+M from those films alone...

If they can make it like Expendables 2 which for me it the best of the three I do enjoy them all I hope they do make a Expendables 4 but l hope they drop the young Expendables and Antonio Banderas who I found really annoying.

The second and third Matrix movies earned more than $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office. When it was all said and done, Keanu reportedly ended up giving away an estimated $75 million dollars. Each member of these teams received $1 million dollars per person, instantly making them all millionaires. But Keanu didn't stop at just the special effects and costume teams. He also gave the entire stunt team on the "Matrix" sequels Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Additionally, as documented in a personal account on Reddit, he helped out a Matrix crew member's family in need:

"A family friend builds movie sets, doesn't design, is one of the poor dudes that just builds. Anyways he worked on the set for the Matrix and Keanu heard about family trouble he was having and gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus to help him out. He also was one of the only people on the set that genuinely wanted to know people's names, would say hello and mean it, and would talk to people as they were his peers and not below him just because they were practically making nothing to build a set. I've never heard anyone say Keanu is douche, seems like the nicest person in Hollywood from a second hand experience."

Keanu is one of the kindest celebrities in Hollywood. He's a model person who should be admired for his unbiased generosity.

There is no way Will Smith could be in an Expendables film. I expect if another film does happen the budget will be slashed. Keanu Reeves might be a possibility, maybe since Lionsgate own John Wick they could do a crossover to this film. Anyway The Arnold Fans have backtracked and now they have said they are scouting for locations in November. We are more likely to see Rambo V and the untitled project with Chan, Schwarzenegger and Stallone instead of another installment in this series.

I agree. The fella's had a torrid personal life (cynicism aside if the film career and riches aren't taken into account), but he seems like a level-headed guy who's making the most of his talents.

This may sound crazy but... how about they really really try making good movie? I've yet to be impressed by the things going on in these films aside from enjoying this or that. But they're not good movie. We've had good action movies. This franchise movie hasn't done that. They've rolled w/ the the premise but fail to bring quality w/ it.

An action movie that turns out to be a good movie isn't unheard of. It happens sometimes in this new century. What they really need to do is get a competent scriptwriter and director to get this thing going. Sly should have been been that but he merely brought an average film. Simon West isn't any good nowadays. And the last one was a waste of time.

I get what they're trying to do but how about they actually try to push or do something very different and imaginative w/ the genre they play in?
