Toe cutter was great in MM I just kind of wanted to know more about him. Feels like we got to know a lot more about Immortan Joe.

I agree. For that matter, I think Immortan Joe is the best villain of the series. You can just look at him and know who he is - the film gives you enough information, especially visually, to understand him. The others - Toecutter, the Humungus, and Aunty Entity - were good villains but you never really learned much about them, imo.

I hated Beyond Blunderdome so much. I felt like turning it off.

I never minded her in that role. Last time I saw the movie, I realized that it was a lot like a western and she was playing the role of the sheriff. In a way, she's not even a villain per se; it's Max who fudges things up, and she just tries to get things back in order. Master/Blaster was more of a villain, but he/they turned into a kind of MacGuffin, which is different.

I gotta say though, the ending bit kinda feels weak to me.
[Show spoiler]She had Max at gunpoint, and all she says is "Well, aint' we a pair," then leaves. All that chasing and all that death...just for that?
It doesn't ruin it for me or anything, I just think it's kinda funny.

Here's what I've always said about Beyond Thunderdome:

Brilliant first act.

Terrible second act.

Pretty good third act.

This why I love George Miller. He comes up with ridiculously memorable characters with even more absurdly sounding names, BUT they work.

Every time when I'm about to watch Beyond Thunderdome I get this feeling of what a, "chore" it'll be, but then I remember how great the first act is, and then the so and so second act, which isn't actually too bad and then third act which fun, but not great. Though the ending I do find to be well done.

Mad Max was released in early 1979, I was 8 going on 9.
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior was released in early 1981, I was 10 going on 11.
Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome was released in ~mid 1985.... I was 14 going on 15 and this is where I got my start and I very much enjoy revisiting it once in awhile!
Mad Max: Fury Road was released in early 2015, I was 44 going on 45 and I just hit 45 2 days ago I this morning I blindly bought a copy of Fury Road off eBay and am quite looking forward to watching it for the first time!

oh damn, i wasn't even paying attention & didn't notice there was a bonus DVD w/ this set. i always just planned to keep my original trilogy in the tin case & have this separate...

however, since the doc only covers the first movie, i think i can live w/o it since that's literally my least fave of the series. if it were a feature doc covering the entire evolution of Mad Max films, i would have to have it...

So at least we know the first film is in continuity with Fury Road!

( Though it's a little weird that he has nightmarish visions of random people he "let down" but not of his wife and son... )

Bought this at Reckless the other day. It is amazing. Also playing the time/life destroying game that I'm addicted to and watching the blu ray. Yeah, I'd say I have a problem.

There is a quick image of his son and wife being run down at the beginning of the movie.

It would have been awesome to see her on top of a truck singing during a chase like the Doof(us) Warrior!

Really? I didn't see the son at all. I did see a woman getting run down, but she was getting run down by Immortan Joe's forces, not Toecutter's gang. Unless we're talking about different scenes.

It wasn't one of the Many Mothers during the final chase. This was at the beginning of the movie.

I wasn't talking about the Many Mothers. I'm talking about a flashback of a woman getting run down by a large War Boys-style vehicle ( as opposed to a bunch of motorcycles ).

Except in this scene, it appears Max's child was a girl instead of a boy as in the first film.

I don't think those people in the flashbacks are necessarily supposed to be his family.
