I have mixed feelings about that because of course family is most important if that is really a serious problem for him, but I also feel like he has a certain responsibility to research his character and role. The Max Payne games have a very specific feel and presentation. I suppose the direction, script, and post production will play a large role in that, but the title character's actor needs to be well informed also. Hopefully he was able to understand the role through other means.

Yeah, but we're talking about the guy that supposedly moved in with the family of the role he was playing in "The Perfect Storm". Here's a guy who's not only addictive (he lived in their attic during the shoot according to rumors) but he also is dedicated to getting into his roles. I'm sure he'll play it fine.
