I wouldn't mind seeing two entire galaxies fighting each other to the death.

I must admit, I did not notice Kylo Ren had his helmet off when attacking Finn. That's kinda awesome.

I'm starting to wonder if there will be some dramatic reveal - Kylo takes off his helmet and everyone's all like
[Show spoiler]oh my God, it's Rey's brother / Han's son / Vader's grandson / Jar Jar's cousin's nephew's former roomate

Another cool thing picked up on was the storm trooper shinning his light on the face on ppl to see who they are. Looking for Luke perhaps

No. That would be kinda stupid, no? Why hide a powerful weapon into a junk staff??

It's like going to a fight with a bazooka but using it for hit people on the head

Rey has a wizard staff that was given to her by her father Gandolf.

Perhaps she is hiding the fact she is a jedi, only to reveal it when she has no choice

From what I understand, if she's a *future* jedi, she doesn't know yet. And I think it makes sense for the character arc. She is "no one" in the beginning, and will become a great warrior.. (you know.... Like Luke!)

Yes, but the question always has been how bad was the crash. To me and many others he looks like a whole other person between A New Hope and Empire. Like he got some kind of weird plastic surgery. I know he aged and there are accounts that he was heavily drinking at the time, but sometimes it's like oh he had a car wreck and got smashed up a little to he had to have part of his nose replaced with part of his ear. He definitely looked at his weirdest in the Holiday Special:

Now that he's old and bloated and his face has sagged he looks more normal, but his face was strange between the Holiday Special until the late 80's. Slipstream was around the time he started looking less like a Gelfling from the Dark Crystal.

I don't really understand how an order of knights who defended the galaxy for literally tens of thousands of years is a group whose existence needs to be affirmed after only 20 years of being gone.

I think a lot of the disbelief comes from how we never really see the Empire be oppressive across the galaxy. Jedi probably weren't well known outside the Galactic center, and within Palpatine's control, anyone sympathizing or carrying on the lifestyle of the old ways was probably put to death (So I would imagine).

So things get passed on as folklore. I guess to put a more applicable comparison, how many North Korean children know about Einstein, Galileo, etc when they are told from birth Dear Leader is the inventor of all things. Then fast forward 20-30 years with that conditioning.

Those things are true, it just seems though that anyone who could read would have access to about 100 zillion gigs of history of the galaxy with the jedi all over it. One has to assume a daughter of Han and Leia can read.
