You're actually right about that. The PT movies weren't just good - they are actually pretty darn brilliant. The Clone Wars animated series were just the icing on the cake, allowing us to see a lot more of what went on during all of that turmoil.

On a side note did anyone who managed to get in on the Disney rewards poster get any notification other than the one person whose shipped already? Mine has been at submitted for almost a week now. Having never redeemed points with them before, I am not familiar with their procedures at all.

My poster arrived this morning. Seems like most folks who ordered when it first became available have received their order...be it pin, poster or both.

Everyone is saying best SW film since IV and V! Also saying SW in the "old fashioned way" the way they should have all been. Finally a REAL SW film again! I doubt it will live up to IV and V glory as those films belong on the pedestal but if this new one is close we are in for a real treat!

That is a big part of what makes me love the PT-era stories so much. Actually just finished a minimarathon of all 6 seasons of Clone Wars, then went back and watched both seasons of the original 2-D series which leads right up to the start of Episode III

Under the Disney empire, SW might become much more of a conventional crowd pleaser, eager to hit all the right beats with calculated sentimentality, the cookie-cutter approach might please the masses but eventually they may release too many movies and do too much marketing - eventually people will be eager for a more cutting-edge franchise.

Disclaimer: ABC News is also owned by Disney. Obviously they want to promote their own movie.

Well what was it going to look like? It's not like it's going to look like The Godfather.

And I'm sure that Hollywood has been bought to post positive tweets.

No I mean plot wise and what we saw in the trailers, it all looks a bit like ANH rehash to me. Desert planet, a new Vader-esque character, a new Death Star, big ship battle finale at Death Star, Rey appears to be very similar to Luke etc...

My ranking would be...

1. ESB
2. RotJ
3. TFA
4. ANH

Still hasn't changed from a week ago. I have always enjoyed ESB and RotJ more than ANH, although I do enjoy ANH immensely, but TFA is something else.

I guess "after you've seen it" is a bit of a redundancy.
I have serious doubts about 2 of those who have voted on the poll.

Of course they have! When they invite you to a fancy premiere, you always feel the pressure to say something nice. Even if you don't really mean it. And Disney can very easily uninvite people for future premieres if they are TOO critical.

Remind me again what a "real" STAR WARS" film is?
