Saw it Thursday night. Now I can finally read all those spoiler posts.
![]() I thought the movie was incredible. I had the hugest smile on my face throughout the entire movie. Lots of audience cheers and applause during moments of the film. Particular whenever an original cast member appeared on screen for the first time. Such moments were [Show spoiler] It was full of surprises, twists, and revelations; all of which were not spoiled for me prior to seeing the movie so I got the enjoyment of experiencing those for the first time. I loved how it uses the same story formula of the original Star Wars-A New Hope, but also takes inspiration from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Some may see it as a cheap trick from JJ Abrams to grab the best moments from the original trilogy and throw them together to make a "Greatest Hits" Star Wars Throwback movie, but I was very pleased with how it turned out. I gotta say, The Force Awakens was everything I hoped for and then some. It certainly delivered the thrills. I also praise Daisy Ridley and John Boyega's performances. Their chemistry together was off the charts and it made them a much more believable pair working together. Harrison Ford was excellent in the movie as well. You could tell he really loved playing Han Solo again after all these years. I wish Carrie Fisher was given more material to work with though. Oscar Isaac was a big surprise for me. I didn't pay much attention to Poe before seeing the movie, but after watching him on screen, I want more Poe. Hopefully he has a larger role in Episode VIII. My only complaints had to be some characters were underused. I wish there were more scenes of Leia, Captain Phasma, and Poe. Also, one scene I felt that wasn't needed at all for it stalled the story was [Show spoiler] Could have done without it. Other than that, greatly enjoyed the movie and was highly entertained that left me wanting more. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a GREAT return to a galaxy far, far away that we know and love. 10/10 or 5 Stars. |

![]() Now to try and see what the Darkside of the Force thinks about it, in regards to people giving this a 1/5 stars. I'm guessing they're very skeptical viewers with extremely high standards, and possibly not Star Wars fans. ![]() |

So I've been thinking about this artistically in regards of what to expect. I realize that there could be a musical parallel to the series - the original was basically a Lucas mash-up of Kurosawa and Buck Rogers type of sci-fi. Would it be a fair comparison to say that TFA is the Abrams remix of Lucas?
I think it could explain a lot of things - some people will be upset seeing parts of a beloved classic being sampled or covered, others will call it unoriginal, but we all love the beat. I personally love it when good songs get remixed or remade in exciting new ways - I'm kinda expecting TFA to be similar cinematically. ![]() |

Used to go to Thoroughbred but always had issues with people talking during the films there. Never failed to get someone chit chatting through a whole movie. Last edited by New_sacred_cow; 12-18-2015 at 06:41 PM. |

Yeah I have never seen a prequel fan that spit on the originals like prequel haters spit on the prequels.
I just want the prequels to be recognized in the same manner as original, maybe even slightly below. They aren't trash like the haters make out. I liked Force Awakens just thought it was too safe since it was basically rehashed. |
