Yeah, I was surprised making the comparison, though the DVD seems to shift in quality, so sometimes it looks better (albeit interlaced, possibly misframed and still worse than the blu). Everyone knows about the opening scene of course, but I think Shriek Show got a bunch of other scenes from lower quality sources as well... I have more comparison shots and details here. But yeah, the blu was more of an upgrade than I was expecting, that's for sure.
Plus it wound up having more extras than they'd announced, which was another very cool surprise. |
