Default Organizational Exceptions

For the most par I just keep my collection in alphabetical order. DVD next to Bluray. Steelbooks & special packaging (thats relatively the same size, I.E. digibooks) all right down the line. I feel like this just makes it the easiest.

Aside from genre organization, does anyone who does the same have any notable exceptions?

Myself: I have been a LONG running zombie fan from like way way back. Well before the "craze" took over. So at my old place (bachelor pad) I had a spereate skinny movie shelf next to my standard rack, and kept JUST my zombie collection on it. It held about 50 movies or so with room for a few more on each shelf. I also kept my Romero run (the '... Of The Dead' series and The Crazies) separate on a bookshelf sort of as its own thing, since he started my obsession. I also had my box sets on their own shelf.

Just moved in with my lady and to conserve footprint space I ditched my two (and little zombie) movie racks and got one big ass one thats almost full, WITHOUT the zombie collection or most her movies.

So I'm gonna have the zombie shelf somewhere, and she collects the After Dark 8 Films To Die For Festival (or whatever the hell they're called) specifically... so we pulled all those out to go together. Also she had this goofball way of organizing all her movies by color of the case spine so I'm letting her do that with all the kids/animated stuff on a separate shelf.

I dunno why anyone wou;d really care or why I care about your movies but it seemed like a topic. Do you pull certain things out of your collection and give them a special spot?
