Hey all,
I have been using a cheap 5.1 surround sound receiver for the last 2 years (Sherwood RD6506). I have been investing in Dolby Atmos blu-rays, specifically Game of Thrones and recent movie releases. I have had my eye on a receiver at my local store; the Onkyo TX-SR444. I don't have much range where I live and I want to avoid buying online in case I need to send it back for being DOA or other issues. I will need to pick up 2 ceiling speakers (I assume mix & matching speaker brands is okay? (I don't want to invest in another set of speakers when I already have 5)). Would the TX-SR444 be a good entry receiver into Dolby Atmos? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-en...-black/763477/ Here is a list of what is available to me here in Australia; https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-en...ent/receivers/ I can haggle the price of the TX-SR444 down to about AUD$700. I can probably sell my current receiver for $200ish. So my budget is around AUD$700-$800. Thanks, ~Jebus |
