YPAO/SPL mic placement if against a wall?

Jbdawson New Member Member since:Aug 2016	YPAO/SPL mic placement if against a wall? I know it isn't ideal but with the way my current room is setup I have no choice. I've got a 7.1 setup with the surround rears mounted behind me above my head. I'm seated pretty close to the wall there's no room to place the mic behind me. Where should I do the measurements from? I have a small tripod should I seat it on top of my recliner at ear level? Perhaps right in front of the couch?
