They already had Rhodes fly off in a Mark 2 or 3, whatever.
Because they write the character bad.

I'd like to see Peggy Carter as a new Captain America during World War 2 and Phil Coulson as Iron Man.

I think you're forgetting that they'll be able to ressurect characters at will after Thanos is defeated. Killing Iron Man in Part 1 is a great way to show "yeah, this guy is serious" and it'll be a great way to end part 2 with him alive.

They've already shown Tony's mental state, and hinted at him willing to do whatever it takes to save his friends. Killing off Tony would be an easy way to transition him into a Nick Fury role. Have him give up the armor, and start making more crossover appearances.

Unless of course you think Disney is going to be fine paying him 200 million dollars a movie by 2030.

well Disney is going to be printing their own money at some point, so it won't really matter.

I don't really have a problem w/someone else taking over for one of the characters, as long as it doesn't feel forced. :shru2:

That's what I think happens at the end of the run IMO. I just hope it's not a lame death.

VIN DIESEL SAYS GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ARE IN AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018. Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely just recently provided an update on how the script is coming along, confirming that new drafts for Infinity War and the untitled sequel are well underway.

Meanwhile, the film's directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, also informed us that Infinity War marks a new beginning for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Not really surprising... it makes sense for them to be there. They've faced Thanos in the comics. It's just weird that when this suggestion was first made a while back Gunn seemed to act like the Guardians were on a separate track, but maybe he just meant that GOTG 2 will be its own thing.

This may be the biggest and best Marvel movie yet. Even bigger than The Avengers, Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. You have (someone put it from Reddit):

Iron Man
Captain America
Scarlet Witch
Dr. Strange
Spider-Man
Ant-Man
Black Widow
Hawkeye
Falcon
Bucky (Maybe?)
Captain Marvel
Vision (For Pt. 1 at least)
War Machine (Maybe?)
Thor
Hulk
+5 Guardians
Loki (Return maybe to go full circle with Thanos?)
Thanos

Not just James Gunn. Kevin Feige refused to confirm that Guardians will be in Infinity War.

And hopefully Coulson, May, Fitz, Simmons, Daisy/Quake, Mack and Peggy Carter (via some form of time travel) too.

Now you're just being daft, time travel has nothing to do with this universe.
