Another not so well known trick.
Turn it off via the main switch at the rear. Hold the eject button and turn the main switch on at the same time and the cooling fan will start in reverse. The amount of dust blown out of my machine the first time was scary. It will run for 20- 30 seconds then turn itself off again. I do it once a week or so now. Runs quieter and feels heaps cooler.
