I've been giving some serious thought into selling off my Blu-ray collection and going all digital with UV and Vudu. It would save soooo much physical space for starters, no more getting up to change discs (very minor inconvenience), and more benefits to going digital. I just can't help but worry about the future of streaming, basically it's service providers and will they start charging fees or even if they will stick around or not. I like havin the physical discs (and collectible sets, etc.) but I have come to the realization that it is taking up some serious space now. I've been planning out our media room for all of our Blu-ray, DVD and CDs and am having a hard time dedicating that much room to "store" them when I could get them all (or almost all of them) on digital form that takes up no physical space whatsoever.
I guess I'm just worried that after I sell our discs off and go all digital, UV and/or Vudu will go under or start charging fees for services. Another issue is they don't have 7.1 audio on Vudu and the prices they want for the 3D movies on streaming is hard to take as well. Anybody else on the fence about going all digital? |
