Oh, nice! That's cool you got a sneak peak with the C20's. I assume you liked what you heard?

How many hours do you think for the C30's break-in? My dealer recommended 100-150 for the Opticon 1's and they're just 4.75" drivers.

Those Dyns I'd give them 250-300 hours. I know My Forest Signature needed 200-250hours to really shine, the X-18 really took as much as the Forest Signature but those I think will take a little more.

Wow, that'll take a little while, but I bet the relief of having them in your home is just so awesome! I'm just gonna put some CD's on repeat for a couple weeks with my Dali's. My Opticon's should be ready end of next week, I'll post some pics in the Dali thread when I get them home.

Cool i cannot wait, What astounds me is in Montreal they always have Dalis at the show on display but none of them are hooked up, so I wonder how the hell are you suppose to sell speakers if you cannot listen to them

Dalis are not very well known by most people but I think they would benefit from being auditioned at the show.

I know they're good but I never get the chance to hear some of their higher end models.

Aweful no kidding they need a lot of break in right now I'd say the X-18 sound better.

I know they will sound amazing from what I heard at the show with the 20s, Not to mention Stereophile did the review of the 20 and I like that they rolloff past 10Khz, this is promising and those should not fatique the ear as Rhettard mentioned from latest Dynaudio speakers.

Considering I missed a whole 5 hours of play time on the C-30, they now have close to 72 hours of break in, now the mids are starting to make a lot of sense and don't feel any congestion or at least a lot less, Voices are not nasal anymore.

Nice thing is the tweeter is super suite and and has tamed down now a little, cymbals sound so good through them and piano just stands out the way it should.

It really took them a good 48 hours to start sounding decent, now their is still a long way to full break in but let's just say they're really starting to show their true potential.

Very happy with them so far

Any updates on the break in ? Have you given them any volume yet?

I also leaned into the volume with my Dali's a bit this morning. Still a bit under 50hrs on them right now, the mids seem better organised and not so vague, but like you I need the high's to smooth out and level a bit.

Might not change too much with mine because they are tuned a bit to have the high's a little stronger, but looking at that Stereophile measurement on the Dyn's I think yours should set in perfectly... just a lot of working them in still

Not sure if I remember... you are feeding the 30's with the Bryston right now?

Nice!

I'm liking the match with Dali's and H/K, the H/K doesn't aggravate the high frequencies as much as the Cambridge did from what I remember with the Energy's.

Been switching between just the bookshelfs running full range and using one of my sub's with 80Hz crossover in the receiver. They have surprising bass when run full range. In a small room and with music that isn't overly bass driven I would be just fine with them. Liking the 80hz crossover with sub best right now, although from swapping the sub cables back and forth between my two subs, I now have a loud thump coming from the sub when pausing, stopping or skipping tracks.

Strange ? Usually or sometimes when A sub is going to make that thump sound when turning on or off like when on auto and it doesn't get a low enough frequency Signal . That could be was happening 👍
