My ears are bleeding

Anyone else have someone like this in their life?

My housemate cannot answer the simplest question imaginable without providing a 5,000-word soliloquy in return. I swear to god, merely inquiring as to what time it is infallibly subjects me to a filibuster-length rejoinder that saps my energy just receiving it into my eardrums. Actual, genuine conversations with her are basically impossible.

I have tried and tried and tried, being pushed to the point of barking at or even begging her, to get her to please try to be succinct and not embellish endlessly, to no avail. (Thank heaven my boyfriend, whom is also driven crazy by this idiosyncrasy, communicates on my wavelength.)
