If the Russos pull this off, then I will worship them forever as directors. This will either be epic beyond all standards or it will be a big mess. IMO, I don't think Whedon or Gunn followed up their first Marvel films with good sequels. So far The Russos have, and now they're taking on this massive two-parter. Very excited, but very apprehensive. Fingers crossed.

Evangeline Lilly confirmed Wasp won't be in this film, maybe Avengers 4, as her character has not yet become WASP....that happens after Avengers 3....or during. Not really sure where that film's timeline happens.

Didn't the reports says that the film has over 60 superheroes? I don't count side characters. Comic book movies always have a bunch of side characters in them.

There's no way The Avengers can beat Thanos in one movie. They need at least 2 movies about this.

I'm pretty sure Part 1 of this will be the end of the original Avengers as we know them and Part 2 will bring the final closure with a few of the remaining members last hurrah against Thanos alongside New Avengers. In fact, I'd be surprised if they didn't drop Infinity War Part II as a title to basically just call it "New Avengers" or similar.

I don't think you really need two movies to defeat Thanos. Then again, the roaster of superheroes in this movie are pretty useless against him. Especially considering that a lot of these superheroes aren't even in their prime (Groot, Spider-Man, etc), don't have superhuman powers (Black Widow, Star-Lord, etc), and a lot of other Marvel characters aren't around to help (The Defenders, X-Men, etc).

It's not confirmed in any of the movies but Black Widow should have been given a backstory of a Russian "Super Soldier Serum" being responsible for her being as good as she is in terms of her enhanced durability and reflexes alongside her training but obviously not to the level Captain America has because that original formula was superior.

Also, Star Lord is part celestial so he does have something inside him but GOTG Vol 2 kinda mixed that aspect so he's left to be a bad ass with space weapon gadgets etc.

I think this movie will be all about loss and Marvel finally showing for at least one movie the bad guy wins but hope remains and that's the finale when all the solo movies have shown them regroup.
