It would have the same quality regardless, just a difference in distribution.

Can't wait! The typo in the title will drive me nuts for the year to come, ha.

Great news. Hope they do right by us and have actually put some work it into. Because I think this, along with Buffy, Angel and a few others, has been the most "Bring it to BD already" movie collection.

Default Batman: The Animated Series (Q3/Q4 2018)

"The announcement came during the Batman: The Animated Series 25th Anniversary Panel at New York Comic Con this weekend. Gary Miereanu, an animation publicist told the crowd that no date had yet been set, but to look for it later in 2018.

Batman: The Animated Series has long been considered by fans to be one of the all-time best adaptations of the character ever. Kevin Conroy’s iconic, brooding portrayal of The Dark Knight defined the character for a generation, while Mark Hamill’s maniacal Joker brought the man behind Luke Skywalker further fame as one of the all-time best iterations of The Clown Prince of Crime."

Wow, wonder how they got Bruce Timm to change his mind. From what I recall, he wasn't keen on a HD release because he thought the show's flaws would stand out.

Perhaps the Mask of the Phantasm Blu-ray proved to him you could have the property remastered in HD without losing the Noir atmosphere.

Well, I'm a huge B: TAS fan & I thought B: MOTP was one of the best animated films I've ever seen. However, I'm not sure I want to spend money on an HD release. I'll have to wait to see how this looks....

Agreed. I think a lot of work will need to be done on the restoration to make it look good re: a Blu release. We'll see.

Was announced at New York Comic Con.

Something told me to keep holding off buying the DVD sets. I was slowing watching the series on Amazon streaming. Think i'll watch a couple more episodes then wait for the bluray.

Finally.

Awww yeah. I knew this had to be coming when I saw there was a panel at NYCC. I know it's the 25th Anniversary but still there had to be something special. Day one for me.
